In December 2005 Darcy Rose celebrated her 2nd year anniversary playing "Abby Carlton" on the CBS daytime drama The Young and The Restless. A role that has earned her two "Young Artist Awards" And in November she became (at seven years old) a contract player!
She also appeared as Young Melissa in Without A Trace in an episode entitled "The Innocents." Last year she filmed the ABC pilot 1/4 Life produced by Zwick/ Herskovitz playing "Lil’ Sis. A member of SAG and AFTRA, she booked her first job before she was one, and has appeared in the films Perfect and The Sparky Chronicles.
You might have seen her in principal spots for national commercials for Sony Handicam, JC Penney, Dial, Suncom, Mattel, Comcast, Saturn, Tylenol and even a radio spot for Sutter Healthcare. Still, she has always had time to pursue her favorite pastime of theatre. A few of her favorite theatre roles are "Molly" in Annie, The Fairy Godmother in Cinderella and Amarylis in The Music Man. She performed In December at The Colony Theatre as Gretyl in The Sound of Music, as well.
Born and raised in the shadow of Hollywood, Darcy Rose Byrnes is the daughter of actors Cathy D’Arcy and CJ Byrnes. Darcy Rose manages to juggle school, auditions, classes, professional work and play dates! Darcy Rose’s favorite color is -you guessed it-PINK! She loves animals, especially her pet rat Magic! However, she has mixed feelings about her Yellow Naped Amazon parrot, Greenburd. Mostly because he sings louder than she does. And, since her favorite thing to do in the whole world is to sing and improvise songs, things can get pretty contentious at times!
